We hope this blog will serve as a forum for information and discussion on current events and things that will impact our Town. This is the time for residents to speak up and get involved. We all have a responsibility to do what we can whether that means speaking out here or face to face when the need arises. Remaining silent is as bad as doing the wrong thing. This democracy only works if we work it.

People Voted Now What?
The townspeople voted, ok now what will happen? We'll have hearings etc ya ya ya . . . . . Who is going to make sure we get the most money possible?? . it's ok by me to have mr merrigan going all out for the trash co but mr mcgaughey and everyone he controls on the board will be looking out for the company not the town. i think mr mcgaughey should recuse himself. he has been so overly favorable to the trash guys there is no hope that he can get the maximum price. who does that leave? supposedly mr rich from koppelman and paige is an expert at trash contracts. that doesn't make me feel secure. i have heard the comparisons of other towns contracts. just because they made mistakes in being too cheap shouldn't mean we follow their lead. consider this ... except for katherine connolly ( because she is not in his camp right now) each member of the board owes their seat to rick. so people of holbrook i am truly asking the question exactly how do you think you're going to get a good price. ??

Sue,
You're absolutely right...After this election I thought that if the elder selectman no longer had any control...would the electorate know how to vote? I don't think so, the following has no independent ability to think. I'm so tired of being told that our opinion is wrong when we choose to disagree. I see the town boards totally controlled by the senior and the blocks of town meeting members locked in step, including their bad manners. Don't try calling your town meeting reps for a consideration on a vote because they have been told how to vote already. I was hoping we would have new members that would be able to think on their own. And finally...I liked the HELP counsel better as moderator.
Sad,sad,sad ...

That link shows even the money towns are having hard times. All you are doind is adding to conspiracy therioes. No one controls Town Meeting.
Sue face it people did not want you on the board. I noticed you took down the posting about your qualifications for the board and why we should vote for you.
PS. It is April where is the BIG check you promised the schools.
mr rizzo what conspiracy theories are you talking about? also i removed that post not because anything in it wasn't true it just wasn't relevent since the election is over. the vote is what it is; i have no problem with that. i did what i could to point out some glaring facts. time will tell who is right. i am content that i gave the info; that is all i could do. i also ran my race in a very upfront manner. i could have done the politicly smart thing and kept my mouth shut but i am not like that.
there will be more info very soon on the fund raising for the school. by the way what are you doing to help them?
I voted yes Sue,
You voted against the over ride when you were on the Board, you said on this very blog you were against it.
your comments about the elder statesman or elder selectman come on, for what 6 months you have been ushing this club, the site has not been updated you promised a check in April, so you should know how much it is, also are you getting a cut of the profits for yourself. you keep telling us there is more coming but nothing has come. I think your fundraiser is a failure or a scam which is it. If I am wrong take a picture of teh check and show us.
mr rizzo the comments made about town meeting were made by anonymous. i do think some members but thankfully not all of them or even a majority, are influenced by mr mcgaughey. the board of selectmen are another story. i don't hold it against you that you have not been involved long enough to know what i and many others know. it's ok you'll find out for yourself.
as to the bulldog buying club i'm happy you're so interested. i'm sure you'll be attending the next info session so you can understand all the ins and outs as the few others have who have checked it out for themselves have done. i don't feel i should name them but you would recognize their names. we will have the web site functioning so you can see the activity on a weekly basis. the person building the site for us had a death in the family which was complicated by being a distance away. then of course i spent the time i would have spent on the club on the election. which reminds me mr rizzo, if that is your name, my partner cheryl and i actually spend our time on this. if it's not fast enough for you too bad.
