You are Welcome

to the writer who asked the question you are certainly welcome. i will add more info if anyone wants me to. i agree with you about having this type of info on the other candidates too. they are welcome to write in here if they want to. i promise to respect their space and not to change or block anything they may want to say. unless something unforseen or offensive ( which i'm sure wouldn't happen given the field). hahaha i couldn't block it if i tried only the basics on this blog.... i heard what the other person said about my show on cable. my schedule and that of my husband has changed a lot. i really liked that show and i hope to get back to it but you gotta do what you gotta do. as for only having mike mullins on that is not true. i had gary machaby a former selectman, margie kelly of kelly auctions, chris golden of the school comittee, mike yunits and i'm not sure if there were any more. i didnt'write them down but you get the idea i hope. soon i will write about what i hope to accomplish going forward for holbrook. it is nice to list the past attempts and accomplishments for the new people and those that forgot but we're really looking for someone to lead us forward. right?

How many people in the Town of Holbrook can afford these overrides and tax hikes? If the Town focused on getting income due to them we would not be in this situation. How about not lowering special individuals real estate taxes? How about going after the people who do not pay their taxes? How about living within your budget? This transfer station may look on the outside as a boon for the town but Randolph will not let those trucks come through their town. Ask them!!!!!! The figures do not add up!!!! As far as Mr. Stigas' comment in the Enterprise you need to remember that the Planning Board was against the Olde English Square project from the beginning. Ask them for the tapes of the meetings. There were many obstacles put in place to block it. He should really research what he says before he says it. No one in this Town can afford these increased payments. Certain members of the Board of Selectmen told many people their taxes would go up $10.00 per year!!!!! They lied. Ten dollars times ten maybe. People need to wake up and hold their feet to the fire. Do not vote for this override. Mr. Powalitus says he will call the Dept. Of Revenue to set them straight. How did that work out for him? We still have not gotten our tax bills so I would say he was not too successful. The DOR has also rejected this years figures. What the hell is going on? We have unqualified and arrogant officials who think they can do whatever they want and we need to show up at the polls and show them we won't let them!!!!

Uhhh 3rd anomyous,

Do your research, Paul Stigas was off the board that year, Connolly ran against him and she filed a complaint in court against Old English.

Don't believe me go to http://oldenglishsquare.blogspot.com/2007/10/oes-zoning-appeal-dismissed.html

I agree that the town does need to go after those not paying taxes but why does Selectwoman Connoly go after every business that want to develop here?

She should not have bought a house on Union St in 2003. OLE was in already approved. She wants the will of the people to be the guide. What about the will of the people at Town Meeting, why the hell did she go to court?

By the way if you are keeping score Selectwoman Connoly has yet to be right, not in court, not at Town Meeting and not with the State. When the whole world is wrong maybe it is not the world that is wrong!

glad to see there are some people out there who are thinking and paying attention. we have lots of potential that we are not even thinking of. instead of going on and on about what we don't have and can't afford how about focusing on what we do have? at this moment our prospects are clouded by the current real estate market, and the uncertainty in the minds of the whole population. that doesn't mean we should just sit around and wait for "someone" to fix it. Holbrook has some good qualities like proximity to Boston, but not too close, the same with highways, our housing mix is ok and will get a lot better when old english gets going. we have 2 roads that are very busy 139 and 37. we have some older houses that could easily become mixed use with business downstairs and the owner living upstairs. personally i wouldn't mind even renting the upstairs but i know it can be tricky and we don't want to get rundown. whenever a proposal like this has come up certain people get all up in arms. i think it's sad because these same people own properties just like that but can't stand to have others do the same. i hope in the near future we can take a serious look at making changes like these. it would require no additional expenditures and would possibly get more income immediately. what do yo guys think?

think what you want. google all you want. nay sayers always have excuses why they can't accomplish things. they also project that same feeling of helplessness on others and whatever task ( which may actually be difficult or possible depending on your view). in any case we are going forward, we have had small successes and will deliver a check to the club in april. you can judge for yourself at that time. again the doomssayers are annonymous. what a surprise! these same people are waiting for money to fall from the sky maybe from an override that will never happen, no matter it's merit. or maybe they think it will show up just by magic. unlike them we are working to make a difference. you may not want to participate that's fine. don't throw cold water at anything until you see the results. by the way what have you done to help the situation?

Sue,

Are you not even bothered that the evidence about Quixtar could be true.

Not to take away from what your trying to do but what if this is a pyramid scheme? What if all your hard work is a trick by this company?

Did you evven know that this company is suspected up this stuff? Why did you pick Quixtar? What if it is a scam and you get elected as Selectman again?

Sue why wait tell us right here and now what you have raised, that way if you don't give the parent group the money we know you are legit.

let me answer you this way. i understand very well what is written on the web about many things including Quixtar. i can write anything and so can you. i have been involved with this company for a while and it has been around for about 50 years. it started as Amway and continues to this day in 85 countries around the world under that name. Quixtar started in the US and Canada in 1999 because they wanted to take advantage of the internet. here are some addresses which you can visit and can give way more detailed info than i can here. better yet go direct to www.quixtar.com itself. from there you can visit the official site for all of the most detailed info. if you go to start a business and continue through it, not to start a business of course but to see more info i think you will get some answers. some especialy interesting ones are the ones that go to the newsroom. they talk about what quixtar does in conjunction with IBM, DEll, and other large corporations etc., since you guys seem to have so many questions feel free to have a one on one info session where we can show you whatever you want to know. if you only want to place roadblocks and are not really sincerely asking then i can't help you no matter what info we pass on. and to the one who wants to see the profits so far you can only have profits when you have participation. Jim Crowley from Holbrook Insurance placed an order. It will be delivered soon. We have some more appointments this week. The profits show up the following month. We just started so there is nothing to report yet.

you know what? i am happy to answer anything to anyone who has the intestinal fortitude to ask a question with their name attached to it. from now on that is how you use my blog. i give straightforward answers you throw back crap. fine throw it somewhere else. and we will post a picture of the check when it comes in just as we've said we would from the beginning. no matter what size it is. only you the supposedly concerned people of holbrook can control how big or small it will be. participate and it's big don't and it's small. simple. until then that's all there is to it.
