We hope this blog will serve as a forum for information and discussion on current events and things that will impact our Town. This is the time for residents to speak up and get involved. We all have a responsibility to do what we can whether that means speaking out here or face to face when the need arises. Remaining silent is as bad as doing the wrong thing. This democracy only works if we work it.

Let's Get It Straight
Just for the sake of continuity let's go back to the post from jan 7th tittled where is everybody? in one of the comments from jan 12th at 11:32 gary contradicts his most recent previous posts. gary says that mr komito ( the father ) sold his land in randolph to BFI in 1972. the elder mr komito died soon after. his son owns the property at 300 centrre st which he rents to mml trust. that is an entity that has interests in mass waste. mr jack walsh and mike g run that company. i don't pretend to know their inner corporate workings just that they are running the business that is supposedly going to be running the proposed trash transfer station. then gary goes on to say that BFI was sold to allied waste. his next comment is that there is no connection between mr komito, BFI and Allied Waste. HUH??? oh and let's not forget mass waste. they have no connection too right? you may not realize it gary but we the people of Holbrook are not stupid.you may not realize it but we've had the wool pulled over our heads before and we can see a bullshit story coming a mile away.if you or your cohorts want us to accept what you want to do here then you have to show us where the benefits are. stop moaning and groaning about it and start getting specific. exactly how much will the town get? i've seen one of the early lease agreements and have been told that it has been updated and improved upon. ok what does it entail? bill merrigan said in the sun a while back that the tipping fee was $1 a ton. i can't believe that can be true. Are the people who think this is a good idea aware that the fee at SEMASS where are our trash currently goes is over $75 a ton? of course the company would expect to make a profit but no one could think that is adequate. i've heard that they won't accept over 1,000 tons a day. ok how can you tell what is arriving and how much each truck weighs until they get here, once they're here and they're over the 1,000 tons do they send the trucks back? full? are you kidding? the questions need to be answered. get to it. you are asking us to allow this company to run it's business on town owned property for the benefit of the whole town. ok show us the benefits. specificly and clearly please. we are eager to hear what you have to say.

There is no contradiction. Mr Kmito's [not Komito} father did sell the land in Randolph to BFI in 1972 and soon after died. As stated 300 Centre st [not Centrre st] is owned by MML Realty Trust, which Mr Kmito is a part owner. MML Realty Trust rents space Mass Waste. Mr Walsh has no ownership in Mass Waste. As stated BFI was sold to Allied Waste many years ago.Call their corporate offices in Arizona if you dont believe me. There is no connection between Mr Kmito and Allied Waste. I agree with yuo that the people of Holbrook are not stupid, but you are for sure.
Hi Sue, Thanks for your support over the years. It was appreaciated. I see you have your own little nemisis in "gary". Whatever! Like all sap(s), he runs in the spring and drys up in the fall. Like the proverbial crap that hits the fan, when all is said and done, he will be circling the toilet bowl too. Even if we lose everything, we still fighters till the end!
Hi Sue:
Bill Merrigan here. Good question regarding the 1000 tons. These are the type of issues we are trying to iron out. I reviewed Brantree's agreement with SEMASS. They are limited to an AVERAGE OF1200 tons per day with an overall annual limit. So, for example, if they were to take in 1250 tons on a particular day, they would have to make up for it by accepting less down the road, be it the next day or another. In our proposal, we would be limited to an AVERAGE of 1000 tons per day with an annual maximum of 281,000 tons (based on a 281 day operating year).
Bill, you keep saying we. Do you own any shares in this company or will you or your family get to own shares
Hi Anonymous:
I do not, nor do any members of my family. I am being paid on an hourly basis.
As far as the use of the word "we", I guess that's just the way I talk and identify with my clients.
Jake, You must be the other stupid person in Holbrook?
Looks like they are bloging back

Seems to me this is a good thing. Isn't this what you all have been asking for over the last several months? Seems like HELP is trying to provide the public with information that will assist everyione in making an informed decison
