Save the Gazebo Fund Raisers

Keep your eyes open for flyers and notices about the fun and inclusive events we have planned for the gazebo repairs. On November 22nd there will be a flag football tournament at Holbrook Sports Center on South St. The owner has graciously allowed Kris' friends to organize a tournament. In case you haven't visited this establishment, it is worth a look. They have a great outdoor field with lights and astro turf for flag football. It is busy many nights with team after team getting great exercise and having a lot of fun. Inside they have an indoor hockey rink for inline skates.
Anyway, on November 22nd while the tournament is going on outside, we will have a Battle of the Bands inside in the hockey arena. Tony Prisco and his band The Grove-Ite's have committed and so has Dave Thomas who will be there with his band, Frazzies Folly. A new wrinkle in this arrangement is that the players from Nov 22nd can choose a couple songs from the play list of the following weeks Band which will be Lionel and the Big Trains. They will be invited to share the stage with the pros for a jazz/blues/rock jam. Very cool!
Lionel and the Big Trains will play at the Spaghetti Supper which will be held at the Holbrook K of C on November 29th at 7:00pm. This event will be for all ages just like the original Spaghetti Supper where we first raised some of the money to build the gazebo. I am hoping that if we engage as many helpers of all ages as possible more people will become and remain invested in protecting and preserving the gazebo in memory of Kris Carew. So, save the dates and come have some fun. Tickets will be available soon, and we need to sell a good amount ahead of time because of the changes in the laws since the Station Night Club fire in Rhode Island.
