where we stand right now 9-27-07

i was informed today that mike yunits was meeting with HELP about the lease for the transfer station.
since i like to get the correct information and hopefully right from the source i called him and asked what exactly was the reason for the meeting today. he informed me that he ( mike) and bill merrigan, and mr falvey's lawyer, and HELP met to discuss the lease and what the town could get from them.
i definitely don't want this transfer station but in all honestly they almost have to have a lease ready so that the town meeting will know what is being offered. as far as i'm concerned there is not enough money in the world to make this acceptable.
i asked what exactly did town meeting vote to allow regarding the lease; i don't remember exactly so if anyone disputes this info feel free, mike says the members voted to allow the selectmen to negotiate the lease. i thought it was more vague than that but he says not. anyway he assured me that the selectmen Could but probably would Not vote to accept whatever they came up with until after town meeting.
i know there are people out there reading this, some of whom are town meeting members and some not. if you are not PLEASE make it a point to talk to the members who represent you and give them your views. not everyone is following this like you are. we are a little slow with our campaign to stop this thing. i really didn't believe they would bother with it. it's such a stupid, backward, nonsensicle (sic) idea so i paid no attention really until recently. make no mistake though HELP stands to make more money that you can imagine. i love it when people and companies make money but not at the expense of the residents. our homes and properties are all we have. we are the ones who will be dealing with the rats, trash , and maggots. not to mention the traffic.i wonder why all the other towns chased these guys out and our ":leaders" are begging them to come here. hhmmmm........?

Sue the reason you could not get into the other blog was there were bug issues but they are all set now try it again and see if you can get in.I keep telling people there is power in numbers and one person can make a difference.
I received a very disturbing e-mail yesterday containing the appearance of a threat against an elected official in the Town. I want everyone to know that it is out there so if something happens to her or her family the connection is made and people including the police have been made aware of this threat. This transfer station is laughable. Mr. Falvey heard about the lease meeting from an e-mail sent to him by a person that has no town hall connections. He was not invited nor was his attorney which was agreed upon during the selectmens meeting that they were to be included in any negotiations. Mr. Falvey was unable to attend but his attorney did at the spur of the moment.I know Bill Merrigan and I would hope that these threats that were sent to me are false. If they are true he may want to distance himself from this project because to threaten a public official, her family or her property is not something I would want to be a part of. He has already made misteps in accosting this same public official after a meeting and I feel he may be too emotionally involved. As far as Mr. Yunits being truthful I can show you pages and pages of untruths. Contact me and I will gladly forward this information to you. In the meantime keep up the fight. There is more behind this transfer staion then people know and it is not very pretty.
